LEED Gold certified and Green Mark Platinum DC in Singapore

In 2016, we opened World Gateway, our new DC in Singapore that was certified to LEED Gold and received the Green Mark Platinum rating from the Building and Construction Authority of the Government of Singapore. This nine-story, one-million-square-foot, multi-temperature facility is Singapore’s largest, automated and customs-bonded warehouse. The DC has a suite of best-in-class technologies and product-handling methods, including an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS), semi-automated pallet shuttle system, robotics, put-to-light pick systems and market-leading, e-commerce logistics solutions. It also consumes 30% less energy than a facility we previously operated in Singapore, despite being four times larger.

The facility features an intelligent lighting system, combining motion sensors and LED lights, that reduces electricity consumption, GHG emissions and cost. To reduce energy consumption and improve air flow in large areas of the warehouse, the DC houses a mixture of air cooling and ventilation systems. It also features energy-efficient variable speed chillers that are 20% more energy efficient than conventional systems, as well as air conditioning systems that are 40% more efficient with CO2 demand control ventilation sensors. To avoid indoor air pollution that arises from traditional, diesel-powered equipment and to also conserve energy, the facility has a variety of high-efficiency, zero-emission handling equipment. These are just a few examples of the kinds of sustainability measures that contribute to our DC in Singapore.

LEED Platinum R&D facility in Thailand

多多棋牌In 2015 we opened a new R&D facility in Thailand that was awarded LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The facility scored 92 out of a total 110 points, the highest score obtained among ten other LEED Platinum certified projects in Thailand. Located in Lamlukka, Pathumthani province, the two-story, 5,080 square foot facility comprises laboratories for formula development and testing, product showrooms, an idea and concept generation lab, raw and packaging material storage and stability rooms, a library, as well as office and meeting areas.

多多棋牌The facility adopts environmentally-responsible materials, such as highly -reflective, glazing materials used for windows and walls that block 30% more solar heat radiance against ordinary glazing, as well as glass walls and windows that maximize natural light. A rooftop solar PV renewable energy system converts sunlight to generate 48,214 kWH of electricity per year, representing 40% of the facility’s energy usage. Abundant fresh air is continuously introduced into the building’s ventilation system and the carbon dioxide (CO2) sensors constantly monitor and ensure CO2 levels are kept at or below required limits for offices, laboratories and meeting rooms. These are just a few examples of the kinds of sustainability measures that contribute to the R&D facility’s Platinum recognition.

LEED certified building in Istanbul

Our offices in the Istanbul LiFung Centre, which comprise 83,215 sq ft of usable space, were certified to LEED Silver in 2011. The building integrates a variety of sustainability attributes including ergonomically-sound work areas, resource-efficient equipment and fixtures and selected building and interior fit-out materials that meet third-party certification requirements. To conserve energy consumption, motion, daylight and time-of-use sensors were adopted, as well as high-efficiency interior and exterior lighting and other equipment, as well as measures to reduce the consumption requirement of IT systems, such as server virtualization, LED monitors, and automatic sleep and shutdown functions. To reduce water consumption, flow regulators, dual-flushing reservoirs and an efficient sprinkler system for exterior landscaping were installed. In addition, rooftop photovoltaic panels generate a portion of the office’s electricity demand, equating to approximately 75Wh of electricity that provides 4% of the office’s total electricity demand.

Sustainably designed office in Shanghai

For the recent fit-out of six new office floors in Shanghai, a number of environmentally-responsible elements were adopted. These include: LED lighting and individual task lights with separate switches for workbenches, energy-efficient variable refrigerant volume (VRV) air conditioning systems, carpet floor tiles that are third-party certified as carbon neutral and emitting very low levels of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and workbench and cabinet particleboard furniture that is both produced by manufacturers and comprises materials from sources that are third-party certified.
